2025 Summer Update
It’s been a busy start to our year with several on-going projects underway and multiple others just on the horizon. Nuria Morfin, the Chair of the BC-TTP Steering Committee, has settled well into her new role as Assistant Professor in the Department of Entomology at the University of Manitoba. Meanwhile, back in British Columbia, the BC-TTP’s newest member, Muhammad Fahim Raza, has carried our values forward with clarity, purpose, and commitment in his first few months as our Apiculture Technician.

Summer 2024 Updates
Hard to believe that summer is coming to a close and fall is just around the corner! Since the BeesCene’s last publish in the spring, we’ve been busy at the BC Technology Transfer Program securing funding, attending workshops, presenting research, creating exciting online courses, doing field work, and getting started on new research projects.
TTP Research Published in Frontiers
Chair of the TTP’s Steering Committee, Dr. Nuria Morfin, along with partners and researchers from the BC Honey Producers Association, the University of British Columbia, the University of Guelph, the University of Manitoba and the British Columbia Ministry of Agriculture and Food recently published a study on revising the economic injury level of varroa mites in British Columbia.
